Welcome to the Association of Marriage and Family
Counsellors, Nigeria
We promote peace, love and harmony among couples and families in Nigeria, resolve conflicts and disputes among couples and families using holistics counselling techniques, celebrate successful marriages and families in Nigeria and We organize seminars, workshop and conferences on marriage and family conflict identification and resolution; gender and family values in Nigeria.
The organisation provides a platform for every Marriage and Family Counsellor in Nigeria to meet regularly,
exchange ideas and contribute meaningfully in building a strong and united families in close collaboration
with all levels of government and international organisations.
It plays active role by representing the views of Marriage and Family Counsellors to
government at all levels in Nigeria on the need to:
Reduce the incidence of broken marriages and families through the use of Marriage and Family Counsellors before marriage and thereafter.
Engage the services of Marriage and Family Counsellors in resolution of marital conflicts before hearing of petitions in both customary and magistrate courts in Nigeria.
Engage the services of Marriage and Family Counsellors in counselling single parents/guardians.
Promote celebration of family week in Nigeria.
The activities of the Association in achieving "Happy Family, Happy Nation" includes: Direct Intervention, Research, Seminars, Conferences, Celebrations, Conventions, Workshops, Film Shows, Documentaries, Panel Discussions, Debates, Journals and Newsletters etc.

The Association
Also encourages activities and recognition of special days whereby Awards are given to families.
These Awards are given based on careful study and recommendations from members of public with key identification of peace, love, unity and stability, moral and family values, understanding among others.

Membership is opened to professionals and individuals interested in Marriage and Family Counselling.
Certified members of the Association can described themselves as "Certified Marriage and Family Counsellors"
These are trained Sociologistsr, Psychologists, Mental Health Professionals, Nurses, Jurists,
Educationists, Réligious Priests and other specialised professionals.
Individuals with Marriage and Family Counselling experience with not less than 10yrs in a religious setting are also encouraged to apply
Trained professional
Must be a trained professional with a minimum of HND, B A, B.SC etc.
Marriage and Family
Must be a Marriage and Family Counselling /
Specialist / Specialised Professional.
Adequate experience
Must have adequate experience in Marriage and Family Counselling.
Stable and United family
Must have stable and united family - "not a divorcee/single or single parent"
Without criminal record
Must be Without criminal record.
